Indian Granites

India has a long history of quarrying and processing Granites. India produces world’s best Granites such as Black Galaxy, Black, Madurai Colors. The featured image use in this post is a picture taken in Mahabalipuram of the mallampur temple. This Temple is made from 7th century A.D to 9th Century A.D.

Types of Indian Granites

North Indian Granites

Granites Quarried and Process in the northern part of India are called North Indian Granites. The main area of Quarries and Factories are scattered between Rajasthan , Gujrat and Madhya Pradesh. Rajasthan’s Jalor is the biggest North Indian City in terms of Granite factories. The main Colors are inclusive of New Imperial Red, Merry Gold, Rosy Pink, Chima Pink, Crystal Yellow etc.

South Indian Granites

Southern Part of India is a very vast and big area as far as the Granite processing and quarrying are concerned. The southern part of India produces more than 200 types of Granite colors.  The major Granites quarries are located in the south of India as well as the factories. South Indian Granites such as Black Galaxy, Kashmir Gold, Absolute Black, Tan Brown or Red Multicolor all have earned a good reputation in world’s stone market.
